PHEAC as contributed to may good programs over the past few years. Here is an example of some of those:-
2016 Indigenous Cycling Program
Assist with an identification and development of cycling program for 10-14 year olds in Port Hedland
2017 Cambodia
Sponsorship of Student to attend overseas programs in Cambodia. Assisting with rural village development through building and agricultural projects. Student attended Carmel College in Port Hedland.
2018 Country week
PEHAC sponsored 4 Hedland Senior High School Indigenous Students in June 2018 to Participate in Country Week held in Perth. Tegan Walker was one of these students and was the coach of the boys team. She says ‘it was an absolute pleasure coaching the Hedland SHS boys team, they finished in 5th position but deserved much higher. We lost to the top two finishing teams by under 5 points, which was a brilliant effort. Our team played fair and were well behaved during the whole trip.’ Tegan is pictured below with her boys team. The 3 other students are also included in the team pictures below.
2018 Annual Canberra and Sydney Tours
PHEAC sponsored 13 Students from the Hedland Senior High School to attend, where they visited historic and iconic areas to give students experiences in preparation to be active citizens of a dynamic globe.
2018 Mystic Basketball Team
Sponsorship through Carmel College for Mystic Basketball team. One of the indigenous students put together a basketball team to compete in the Northwest Games competition in South Hedland on 13-15 July 2018. PHEAC assisted with uniforms and registration costs to enable the Mystic team to develop physical and social skills.
2018 Mazenod College
PHEAC has sponsored students in their education and sporting endeavours through Maznod College. Students seeking to advance their education and sporting endeavours are often required to attend boarding at a city based school. This can be a financial burden on families and PHEAC has been able to assist in some circumstances.
2018 Light of Hope Cambodia
Cambodia Project Work in Phnom Penh at orphanage leading others in arranging nutrition and and sporting clinics for Orphans.
